In Midtown, you've passed it a hundred times. Maybe you've never paid it much attention.
The mechanical (some would say manic-faced) gorilla doesn't really describe what it is.
"What's the name of this place?" someone in the waiting area asked. "Is it called the Gorilla Car Wash?"
That's not the name of it. Yet the gorilla has been seen in magazines,
books, television...even motion pictures. And it put the store on the map.
" As small business owners I love that they have been able to survive, ratty gorilla and all," said Carrie B., a customer. "I think they run a tip-top operation."
Two-Minit Car Wash has become a fixture in the Midtown area. All around it, facades are changing, yet the car wash remains and the mechanical gorilla continues to wave.
"I came away impressed," said Will T., who was about to drive away in his freshly cleaned car. " It's every bit as good as the mega car wash I usually go to. Plus, prices are a few dollars less and you get a discount for your next wash at checkout."
Throughout the years, hundreds of people have worked at the car wash. Friends of government and professionals, there's always a good mix of everyone at the business.
For many Atlantans, a zip thru the Two-Minit Car Wash is the last errand before starting any big weekend.
Why 'Two minutes' VS one? "That's how long it takes an average car to
run through the machine part of the wash," laughed one employee.
"This place is great," said John T., a customer waiting on his truck to be cleaned. "What I like about it---it's good and it never changes."
