BELTLINE BOON HEADED FOR MIDTOWN (published Oct 2014)
Georgia Tech student Ryan Gravel had the right idea in 1999. His master thesis tempted a glimpse into a huge future project that would revitalize the city of Atlanta.
The Atlanta BeltLine evolved from an idea, to a grassroots campaign dedicated to a revived approach to transportation, land use and sustainable economic growth.

The Atlanta BeltLine evolved from an idea, to a grassroots campaign dedicated to a revived approach to transportation, land use and sustainable economic growth.
Jenny Odom,
Communications & Media Relations Manager, explained the project: "
The Atlanta Beltline is transforming the city with a combination of
rail,
trail, green space, housing and art. It will ultimately connect 45
intown neighborhoods!"
Truly, the promises have
paid-off. The idea cost $350 million dollars, but is witnessing over 1
billion in development. And the project will continue to get better in
the years ahead.
The Midtown section of the project is just opening, but runners and walkers are ahead of the pavement.

"I grew up in Atlanta, and the project is very close to my heart," says Odom.
The public is invited to visit www.beltline.org and schedule a tour, or use the guide on the web site. Better yet---come for the celebration!
