ONE MUSEUM PLACE BREAKS GROUND in MIDTOWN (11/15/14)

So you want to live in one of the finest places in Midtown? Get ready to spend some money, it might cost you.

The new One Museum Place condominium project just broke ground.

Across from the beautiful High Museum of Art, the project is for a limited number of people who are looking for something upscale and yet close to all that Midtown has to offer.

The plan is to have over 40 condos in a range of price tags starting at $700,000 dollars and up.

Famous Atlanta Developer John Wieland is behind the project and has been quoted as saying the building “…will present an experience that only a few select Atlantans will ever know.”

Wieland is excited because the project is close to MARTA, the Midtown Arts District, and local
establishments.

Most will welcome anything on the spot that has been empty for nine years. At one time, Wieland envisioned two towers, complete with a modern art gallery. Now the plan is for just one. But a very nice re-vision of the original project.

Writes Wieland on the project’s website: "Instead of constructing a glass tower, I reserved the property to build the kind of home where I would want to live. One Museum Place is destined to complement the masterworks of Renzo Piano and Richard Meier with an impeccable design for livability and luxury by the best and brightest team I could assemble."

The building will include the amenities you would expect, including pools, yoga and massage rooms, juice bars and the latest controlled access technology for safety.

Wieland has moved his own design vision from the suburbs into the city. His plan is to incorporate his properties into walkable in-town communities.

In the past, the developer considered selling the property, but knew he could never do that because of his involvement as a Board Member andbenefactor of the High Museum.

Because of Wieland, the new property will complement the museum itwill one day face. One Museum Place is being built by the firm of Mack, Scogin, Merrill & Elam Architects.

“I’m involved…emotionally involved,” said Wieland. “I really want something nice across the street from the High.”
