MEDLOCK GULF HYBRID AHEAD of TREND (spring 2015)
Karl Jaeger continues to stay ahead of the automotive service and
repair business. Medlock Gulf is one of the few gas stations in Georgia
where attendants will give you the Full Service experience. That means
they pump your gas, like the old days!
"We have been
here since the 1940s," said Karl " and we're still a full service gas
station. We do all types of repairs from emissions concerns to full
engine swaps. All of the work is done here on our property."
Also on the property, a taste of what the future holds in automotive
repair: Medlock's Hybrid Shop® continues to help costumers who have made
the choice to purchase a Hybrid vehicle. Not every automotive shop can
work on these vehicles, as they have special parts, including a battery
which works like a brain.
At Medlock, batteries can
be restored to manufacturer specifications on a Hybrid vehicle up to 95%
of what they were on the showroom floor. A USB drive is created for
each vehicle, which store engine diagnostics. This can be used later
for repairs and service.
By keeping the age-old 'offer a smile and good service' model and staying ahead of trend, Medlock Gulf has bought a piece of future for themselves.
Karl and other team leaders at Medlock say the secret comes from an
investment in training. A select few are chosen to go north yearly for
extensive classes on Hybrid Shop® engine repair and adjustment.
Medlock Gulf sees that this group of engineers and repair personnel know the new
Hybrid engines and how they operate. Some are experts in car
manufacturers (each car company does it a bit different than the last).
"To maintain fuel efficiency," said Karl, "...your combustion engine, drive motor,
generator and battery pack must be in balance with each other. If one
system is stressed, the other components suffer, possibly causing
unrecoverable damage. The Hybrid Shop® offers a complete maintenance and
repair approach."
For years, Medlock Gulf has
been an outstanding partner to the community as well. If you have
vehicle questions, Karl Jaeger and his crew invite the public to stop in
or call. The station and Hybrid Shop® are ocated at 1489 Scott Blvd, Decatur, Georgia (404)377-2285.
